What DeepShrink is
DeepShrink is an AI reflection companion for self-help. You can talk things through with an AI companion, check in on how you feel, keep a reviewed memory of what matters to you, try guided exercises and look back at patterns in your own records.
The companion is an AI, not a person. Its replies are generated by AI models run by our AI providers, named in our privacy policy.
These terms are an agreement between you and DeepShrink Inc. (in the process of being incorporated), the company behind DeepShrink ("we", "us"). By creating an account you accept them.
Not therapy
DeepShrink is a self-reflection companion for general wellbeing and entertainment. It isn't therapy, counselling, or medical or mental-health treatment, and it can't diagnose anything or replace a qualified professional. For advice about your situation, please talk to a licensed therapist or doctor. If you're in danger, call your local emergency number.
DeepShrink is not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor, treat or ease any illness or condition, and nothing it says is medical, psychological or other professional advice. Exercises drawn from approaches such as CBT are self-help exercises, not treatment.
DeepShrink is not an emergency or crisis service. Nobody watches your conversations in real time, and it cannot contact anyone for you. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number. The Urgent help page lists crisis lines and works without an account.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. Before you can use the companion, you confirm your age, that you understand DeepShrink is an AI and not for emergencies, and that you agree to how we handle what you write. If you say you are under 18, you are signed out and nothing you wrote is stored.
An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
What the AI can get wrong
AI replies can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or not right for you. They can misunderstand what you meant. Treat them as prompts for your own thinking, not as instructions or advice.
You decide what to do with anything DeepShrink says. Do not rely on it for decisions about your health, safety, money or legal matters.
Memory suggestions, insights and weekly look-backs describe associations in what you wrote. They are not diagnoses or findings about you. You can edit or delete any memory, and memory suggestions are only saved when you accept them.
When we show safety support
Before DeepShrink acts on what you write, an automatic safety check looks for signs that you may be in danger. It uses fixed rules and an AI classifier.
If the check finds a serious concern, the companion replies with extra care and DeepShrink shows crisis lines and emergency numbers for your country alongside the reply. If it finds an immediate concern, the normal reply is replaced by a short safety message and a full-screen list of support. Reminders pause for 24 hours after a serious concern and 72 hours after an immediate one.
We keep a record of the outcome (how serious, what kind, where it happened), never your words. Nothing is sent to emergency services, your contacts or anyone else. The Urgent help page, your safety plan and safety replies are never behind a paywall, and an urgent safety reply never counts against a usage limit.
The check can miss things and can be wrong. It is not monitoring, and it does not replace calling for help yourself.
Trial, Plus and payments
During the beta, DeepShrink is free. The trial and Plus below apply once the beta ends.
When you finish onboarding, you get a 7-day trial with full access. It needs no payment card and ends by itself; you are not charged unless you buy Plus.
After the trial, the journal, check-ins, memory and the short resets stay without Plus. Former beta members also keep the free plan: the guided exercises, with a small number of companion replies each month that we may pause for everyone when the free plan’s monthly budget is used up. More use of the companion and the other reflection features needs Plus, monthly or yearly. Prices are shown before you pay and can differ between the website and the apps. Plus renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the period ends.
When you buy on the website, the checkout is run by one of our payment providers: Stripe by default, with Paddle or Mollie as alternatives. Where Paddle runs your checkout, Paddle is the merchant of record and sells you the subscription under its own buyer terms.
When you buy in the iPhone or Android app, Apple or Google sells you the subscription. Their terms for the App Store or Google Play cover payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds, and you manage the subscription in your store account settings.
Some things are always free, with or without a plan: the Urgent help page and crisis lines, your safety plan, safety replies, your consent choices, account settings, exporting your data, resetting your reflection data and deleting your account.
Plus includes a fair-use limit on companion messages per day, so the service stays available to everyone. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, including any right to withdraw from a purchase.
Using DeepShrink fairly
Use DeepShrink for your own reflection. Please do not:
- break the law or use DeepShrink to harm, harass or threaten anyone;
- try to make the AI produce content that is illegal or that could hurt someone, or get around its safety checks;
- share your account, sell access to it, or use it on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge;
- scrape, automate, overload, reverse engineer or attack the service, or get around usage limits;
- pretend to be someone else, or pretend to be us.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel it in your store account too.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk or is held by someone under 18. Where we can, we tell you first and give you the chance to export your data.
If we stop offering DeepShrink, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance (longer where the law requires it), give you that time to export your data, and handle any paid period as the law requires.
Our responsibility to you
We provide DeepShrink with reasonable care and skill, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or right for you. AI replies in particular can be wrong.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
If you live in the EU or the UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
We may change these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
