In beta, with invites in small waves
Talk things through with an AI that remembers what matters
DeepShrink is an AI reflection companion for self-help, made for adults. It keeps notes you can read and edit, and uses nothing it works out about you until you accept it.
DeepShrink is for self-reflection, not therapy or medical care. Learn more
- You
- I always say yes and then regret it. Now I've agreed to another project and I'm dreading the weekend.
- DeepShrink
- That's the third time this month you've told me about agreeing to something and regretting it later. Would it help to look at what happens in the moment you say yes?
- You
- Yes. I think I'm scared of letting people down.
Why DeepShrink
Why not just use a chatbot?
It forgets what you said last week, or remembers things about you without saying what.
Memory you can read
Every suggestion shows the words it came from. You keep it or not, and you can edit or clear anything it remembers.
It agrees with everything, so you leave feeling heard but no clearer.
Honest, not flattering
Choose Challenge me and it questions your reasoning instead of cheering it on. Choose Just listen when that is what you need.
Telling a friend, a partner or a colleague comes with stakes: they might judge you, compare you with others or see you differently afterwards.
No judgement, nothing at stake
It does not compare you with anyone or try to get a reaction out of you. Saying it here puts no friendship or job on the line. It is there to help you see what you want and how to get there, and when you are ready to talk to someone, you can rehearse it here first.
It can only chat. When you are stuck, more talking rarely moves you.
Structure when talking is not enough
93 step-by-step techniques, multi-week journeys and short resets. It suggests one when it fits, and you decide whether to start.
Many wellbeing apps are built to keep you hooked, with streaks to protect and reminders that make you feel guilty.
Made to be put down
No streaks, points or guilt. Reminders are the ones you set, check-ups can be turned off, and both stay quiet during your quiet hours.
Made for moments like these
After a hard day at work
Choose Just listen and say it out loud: no advice and no exercises unless you ask.
A decision you keep circling
Choose Challenge me, and it tests your reasons instead of agreeing with the way you already lean.
The same argument, again
See it from their side first, then rehearse the next one: it plays the other person, and you can stop at any moment.
How it works
A conversation that keeps its notes where you can see them
Tell it what matters
Answer a few questions about what you want to work on and how it should talk to you.
Talk it through
Choose how it should talk to you, from just listening to challenging you, and say it in your own words, typed or spoken. If a session runs past 20 minutes, it offers a pause.
Check what it remembers
It suggests notes about you. You keep each one or choose Not now.
Try an exercise
When a technique might help, it suggests one. You decide whether to start it.
What's inside
Conversation first, with structure there when you want it
All of this is in the beta today. Details may still change.
Memory you can read
Notes about your life and goals. Each suggestion shows the words it came from. Edit any note, see what changed and when, or clear the whole memory.
PatternWaiting for your reviewYou find it hard to say no to extra work, and regret it afterwards.
I always say yes and then regret it.
You, in a conversation
Not now
Remembered
An illustration. Clear facts are kept with an undo; other notes wait in Suggestions, with the words they came from, until you keep them or choose Not now. Check-ins
A daily check-in for mood, energy and stress, sleep and social diaries, and a calendar of your history.
How are you, right now?

Conversations your way
A tone you choose, and your own instructions for how it talks to you.
A journal you can speak into
Write or dictate entries in your own words, with your mood beside them, and look back by day.
Rehearse a hard conversation
It plays the other person so you can practise what you want to say, then you look back on how it went. A disagreement? See it from both sides first.
Journeys
Multi-week programmes with a step for each day, on grief, on focus and feelings, and on sleep.
Tools for one problem
A worry tree, a decision workspace, a Wheel of Life and letter-writing prompts.
Insights
Trends from your check-ins. With pattern-finding on, a weekly look-back shows what tends to go together, never as causes.
It learns what helps you
Your map shows which ways of talking and which exercises seem to fit you, and why. Remove anything that is wrong.
Bring it to your next session
Choose what to share, and get a short summary of your last two weeks for your next appointment, or for someone you trust. Part of Plus.
Safety
For the harder days
A few protections are always on, whatever your settings.
If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number.
A safety check on every message
If something you write suggests you could be in danger, the normal conversation stops and you see crisis lines for where you are. You cannot switch this off.
Urgent help that works offline
In the iPhone and Android apps, crisis contacts open even without a connection.
It never contacts anyone for you
DeepShrink will not message, call or alert anyone on your behalf. Reaching out stays your decision.
Never behind a paywall
Urgent help, your safety plan and crisis replies are free, with or without a subscription. Urgent help also works without an account.
Privacy
What happens to what you share
What you write about your feelings and your life is sensitive, so DeepShrink only stores and uses it with your explicit consent. You decide separately whether it may suggest memories or look for patterns, and you can change either in Settings.
Private, with logged staff access
Your conversations are private: staff can only open one under strict, logged rules, and your data export lists every time they did.
Stored in the EU
Your account and conversations are stored on servers in the European Union.
Who writes the replies
To reply, DeepShrink sends what you write to AI services run by other companies, currently Together AI and Replicate, and TypeSafe for a quick safety screen. They process it for us, may do so outside the EU, and never get your email address or account name. None of them uses it to train AI models. You agree to this before you start.
Take it with you, or delete it
Export all of your data, reset your reflections, clear its memory or delete your account whenever you want.
Who is behind it
Built by people who tried everything else first
We tried the journaling apps, the mood trackers and the chatbots. On a good day they were fine. On a day when we felt low, the journal only stored what we wrote, the tracker turned it into a chart, and the chatbot agreed with everything and had forgotten it by the next week.
So we studied 44 apps like these and what their users complain about most: being forgotten, being flattered, streaks that make you feel guilty, memory you cannot see. DeepShrink is built against that list, one decision at a time.
It is still a small, independent project. Write to us at hello@deepshrink.com: we read every message.
